This area of Piedmont is not well discovered yet but it it breathtaking, so I definitely recommend you to go and explore around.

Who is this itinerary for?
This itinerary is for everyone! This place is reachable by car, and there are several hikes around the area. A good option is also to stay and enjoy this small and homely mountain hut. All the hikes are well-marked, but I recommend having a GPX trace, especially if you don’t speak Italian. The elevation gain of the ones I did is not bad, but as usual, make sure to be well-prepared for any emergency.
Where to stay: La Baita, Roccabruna

- Mountain Hut: La Baita
- Location: Roccabruna
- From Turin: 2h
La Baita is one of those places that instantly makes sense the moment you step inside. What used to be a simple mountain lodge has been restored with care, turning it into a warm and authentic retreat without losing the soul of the original structure.
Nicoletta, the owner, is the kind of host who gives the place its identity. She runs La Baita with genuine passion—exactly the type you only find in people who grew up in these mountains and know every corner of them. La baita is welcoming, quiet, sincere, and attentive in a way that immediately makes you feel looked after.
The charm of La Baita lies in the balance between comfort and tradition: wooden interiors, soft light, vintage details, and that unmistakable mountain warmth that makes you slow down without even realising it. Breakfast is homemade and local—simple, good, and exactly what you want before a day outdoors.

Monte San Bernardo is a compact, panoramic hike loved by locals because it offers maximum reward with a moderate level of effort. You don’t need technical skills, and the route is clear and well-marked.
